Since 2016 Emily has accumulated over six months of time living in or visiting multiple regions of India. She fell in love with the country during a 2 -month artist residency program in the Arts and Heritage village of Raghurajpur (Odisha). During her travels she’s come to understand the ins and outs of experiential travel in India: from clothing customs to best travel tricks; from finding hidden art and spiritual treasures to (safely) exploring regional delicacies, and most importantly how to graciously accept the outpouring of hospitality that India is noted for giving.
With over 10 years of experience writing, lecturing and teaching at the university level Emily artfully facilitates perspectives and insights that bridge western and eastern ways, philosophies, and cultures. Her sincere passion for the communities, cultures and languages of India has enabled her to develop a network of close friendships and mentorships within country that make trips with her expansive, integrative, and truly intimate.
